Adhesive Solutions for Motor Products
With 15 years of experience in adhesive R&D and manufacturing, we provide customized bonding solutions for brushed, brushless, servo, and stepper motors. Our solutions enhance motor reliability, reduce vibration and noise, and support high-speed, automated production.
Traditional brushed DC motor
Commutation in carbon-brush motors generates high-frequency vibrations, which can cause the magnets to detach. The encapsulation material for the commutator is prone to aging and cracking, while the bond between the plastic support structure and metal components is often weak, leading to abnormal noise during operation.
Solution: Utilize high-impact-resistant structural adhesives to bond the magnets to the support structure, and employ high-strength anaerobic adhesives for bearing retention; these solutions effectively absorb vibrations and reduce noise.
Magnet Bonding (Commutator Encapsulation): CT320 (two-component epoxy; long working time; impact-resistant)
Bonding/Fixing of Plastic Support Structures: CT360 (two-component epoxy; impact-resistant) / CT314 (one-component; high gap-filling capability; rapid curing via electromagnetic induction)
Cylindrical Part Retention (Bearing Inner/Outer Rings): CT8603 / CT8641 / CT8648 (anaerobic adhesives; resistant to heat and humidity; high strength)
Brushless DC motor
High-speed rotor rotation demands high bonding strength for magnets, as even the slightest change in the magnetic air gap can impair efficiency. Loose windings can lead to short circuits or noise, while bearings may experience “ring creep” (slippage) during prolonged operation.
Solutions: Use high-strength magnet adhesives to ensure precise positioning and impact resistance. Employ UV-curable adhesives for rapid, near-instantaneous curing of windings—ideal for high-speed, automated brushless motor production lines. Utilize high-strength cylindrical retaining compounds to prevent loosening between bearings and the rotor core.
Magnet Bonding (Stator/Rotor Surface): CT386S / CT386 (Single-component, fast-curing, excellent temperature resistance) / CT8518
Winding/Coil Bonding and Securing: CT3102 (Single-component UV adhesive, slightly thixotropic, cures in seconds, suitable for automation)
Cylindrical Retaining (Bearings/Rotor Core): CT8603 / CT8641 / CT8648
Linear stepper motor
Frequent reciprocating motion of moving parts can cause threaded connections to loosen, leading to a loss of precision. Rotor surfaces require specialized treatment to ensure wear resistance and rust prevention. Additionally, metal end-cap flanges are prone to leakage.
Solutions: Use thread-locking adhesives to prevent loosening. Apply a specialized epoxy coating to rotor surfaces, which can then be polished. For flange sealing, utilize a high-viscosity, high-temperature-resistant single-component sealant to ensure long-term stability.
Rotor Surface Coating: CT254 (single-component epoxy; polishable, wear-resistant)
Thread Locking: CT8243 / CT8262 (single-component anaerobic adhesive; prevents loosening and leakage; temperature resistant up to 150°C–180°C)
Flange Sealing (End Caps): CT7510 (single-component; long working time, high viscosity) / CT587 (moisture-curing; highly elastic)
Permanent-magnet synchronous AC motor
Embedded surface-mounted magnets are highly susceptible to demagnetization or detachment when subjected to strong electromagnetic forces and high temperatures. Stator coils generate significant heat, requiring high-efficiency insulation and thermally conductive potting compounds. Furthermore, metal end caps demand rigorous sealing standards.
Solution: Utilize high-temperature-resistant epoxy adhesives for bonding embedded magnets. Apply potting compounds to the stator coils to provide deep-level protection. For end-cap sealing, employ moisture-curing silicone sealants to ensure high elasticity and excellent weather resistance.
Magnet Bonding (Embedded Surface-Mount): CT314 (Single-component epoxy; high gap-filling capability; superior temperature resistance)
Stator Coil Potting: CT362 (Two-component epoxy; provides deep-level insulation and protection)
Flange Sealing (Metal End Caps): CT7510 / CT587
Servo motor
High-precision encoders are extremely sensitive to vibration and oil contamination. The fit between the rotor core and the steel shaft requires exceptional precision, with no tolerance for any looseness. Furthermore, frequent start-stop cycles demand that structural adhesives possess excellent toughness.
Solutions: Thixotropic STPE adhesives—designed specifically for encoder sealing—offer high elasticity and are non-corrosive. High-performance anaerobic adhesives are used for securing rotors to shafts and bearings. For magnet bonding, a range of epoxy adhesives is available to suit various operating conditions.
Magnet Bonding (Adhesive Fixation): CT386S / CT386 / CT381 / CT385 / CT320
Encoder Bonding and Sealing: CT6120 (Thixotropic STPE; highly elastic, non-corrosive)
Cylindrical Part Retention (Rotor Core to Steel Shaft/Bearing): CT8603 / CT8638 / CT8648
Winding Coil Fixation: CT3102 (UV-curable adhesive)
